Fresh Eire Adventures is delighted to offer the Dublin Shelbourne extension – complete with a Literary & Gastronomy Tour of the city; a one-day walking tour of Dublin’s most significant literary attractions combined with a tour of the finest gastronomic highlights on offer.

You will stay in Dublin’s most historic hotel, the 5 star  Shelbourne on St Stephen’s Green, for two glorious nights.  In the heart of the city, The Shelbourne was renovated during the height of the Celtic Tiger boom so no expense has been spared in the restoration of this fine institution.yeats2

Dublin is a UNESCO City of Literature and offers the weekend visitor a myriad of choice in museums, galleries, shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, nightlife and theatre.

Following a Ulysses-themed breakfast to set the mood, your guide will meet you at your historic hotel, The Shelbourne, on St Stephen’s Green at 9.30am to commence a memorable day in the city:

  • Guided tour with Irish literary expert;
  • Short Visit to Trinity College to view The Book of Kells and Long Room;
  • ‘Elevenses’ in Bewley’s with a local Dublin poet;
  • Visit to the National Library on historic Kildare Street;
  • Joycean Lunch, including Guinness or wine, in Davy Byrnes;
  • Backstage visit at Abbey or Gate theatre;
  • Afternoon tea at either The Gresham or Wynne’s Hotel;
  • Visit to Writers Museum;
  • Pre theatre dinner, including wine, at Chapter One (Michelin Star);
  • Tickets to theatre production of your choice;

This is a walking tour although a taxi may be used to transport you after lunch to the north side of the city.  Post-theatre taxi, if required, can be arranged but is not included. Distance covered by foot is less than 2 miles.

You will have a second free day in Dublin to explore the city as you wish.  You may, of course, extend the package by an extra third day. Lunches and Dinners are not included on your second (and third, if chosen) day but we would be delighted to make reservations for you at some of recommended restaurants. All breakfasts are included.
